Rebecca Leitman Veidlinger, Esq., PLLC is excited to announce new team members and the promotion of Carolyn Olson to Director of Investigations at the firm. The new team members are Kimberly Taylor, Bridgette Carr, Vivek Sankaran, and Kimberly Schrader.
Kim Taylor is a higher education professional with more than two decades of experience on college campuses and a deep knowledge of Title IX and other compliance issues. She approaches complaints, reports, investigations, and resolutions with empathy and engages in effective communication with students, faculty, and staff alike. She has a background in conducting sexual misconduct investigations involving students, athletic teams, and college employees and has been pivotal in developing and implementing comprehensive programs to address gender discrimination in educational settings.
Before joining Rebecca Leitman Veidlinger, Esq., PLLC, Kim served as a bi-college Title IX Coordinator for Bryn Mawr College and Haverford College. She also served as the Associate Dean of Students and Title IX Coordinator for Ursinus College and as Ursinus’ Director of Campus Safety.
Bridgette Carr is a clinical law professor at the University of Michigan (UM) Law School and has over 15 years of experience conducting trauma-informed interviews and investigations. The founder and Director of the Human Trafficking Clinic at the UM Law School, Bridgette is a respected trainer and consultant on the topics of sexual assault and human trafficking, and she has developed a compassionate, equitable, and empathetic approach to her work.
Bridgette previously worked as an associate clinical professor at the University of Notre Dame Law School.
Vivek Sankaran is the Director the Child Advocacy Law Clinic and the Child Welfare Appellate Clinic at the UM Law School. He has represented hundreds of children and parents in complex family law settings such as foster care, custody, and guardianship proceedings in trial and appellate settings. Vivek routinely conducts trainings for the American Bar Association, the Michigan State Court Administrative Office, the National Center for State Courts, and other state and national groups.
Vivek previously served as the Director of the UM Law School’s Detroit Center for Family Advocacy and as a staff attorney at Michigan Children's Law Center.
Kim Schrader has more than a decade of experience serving as the Title IX Coordinator for Knox College. She is dedicated to promoting social justice, care, and equity through Title IX processes and is well-versed in guiding others through concerns, complaints, investigations, and resolutions. Throughout her career, Kim has worked to build impactful initiatives to prevent gender discrimination and promote an inclusive environment.
In addition to these new hires, Carolyn Olson has been promoted to the firm’s newly created position of Director of Investigations. A former Assistant United States Attorney and Stanford University Law graduate, Carolyn brings precision, thoroughness, and a focus on fairness in her work supervising and conducting Title IX investigations.
